Jules started drawing and painting 5 years ago at an art coffee morning she drew and painted, in watercolour, a field mouse going up a poppy head, it turned out well and encouraged her to continue.
She enrolled onto an All Seasons Art course running for 2 hours for 14 weeks. They started with the basics and progressed though drawing, pastels, watercolours and acrylics. Then Jules enrolled onto an oil painting evening course at Shrewsbury Colleges followed by life drawing and painting the human figure.
Jules has twice entered the SAA Artist of the Year competition, both times progressing to the final stage of the competition.
Jules has found a new passion in life and enjoys working with colour and light in both acrylics and oils, taking inspiration from the landscape and seascape in a contemporary style. She also paints pet portraits.
Previous to painting she spent 10 years as a fused glass artist attending classes at Creative Glass Guild and Warm Glass in Bristol and winning a competition at Creative Glass Guild in 2015 with a design of a 3D yacht. However, she no longer works in glass due to health reasons.
