A published novelist and fiction editor for most of my life, I turned to painting 10 years ago as a change from words.
Helped greatly by joining a local Art Group in Leebotwood, my landscapes were mostly painted in soft pastel, a medium I still love.
A short course in Acrylics three years ago triggered an entirely new direction. Always drawn to looser expressive work, acrylics led me to explore abstract work.
There are two strands to my work now: the semi-abstract landscape and florals, together with pure abstract. Layering, scraping back and glazing are a major part of my work.
Landscapes are relaxing to paint, but I love the excitement and unpredictable nature of abstract work. The adventure continues!
